CloudPe participated in Technology Senate X 2026, held on July 22 at The O Hotel, Pune. Unlike large exhibition-style events, this one was structured around focused, one-on-one meetings with senior technology leaders, resulting in a higher concentration of substantive conversations at each booth.
A different kind of room
Most industry events draw general foot traffic. This one was built differently. Organizers curated the room around CTOs, IT heads, GMs, and other senior decision-makers, and arranged direct one-on-one meetings between attendees and participating vendors.
That format changed the nature of the conversations at the CloudPe booth. Rather than introductory explanations of cloud computing, discussions moved directly to specific infrastructure challenges from people already running workloads at scale.
What CIOs and IT leaders are prioritizing
Several themes recurred across conversations at the event:
Cost predictability remains the top complaint. IT leaders described being caught off guard by hyperscaler bills, particularly around egress fees and usage-based pricing that is difficult to forecast month to month.
Kubernetes adoption is growing, but operational overhead persists. Teams want the benefits of Kubernetes without needing a dedicated team to run it.
AI and GPU workloads are shifting from exploratory to budgeted line items. More organizations now have GPU compute on their 2026 roadmap and are actively evaluating providers rather than defaulting to major hyperscalers.
Data residency and compliance are treated as hard requirements, not preferences. For attendees from BFSI and healthcare in particular, data staying within India was described as non-negotiable.
Support responsiveness is viewed as a career risk for IT leaders, not just a service metric. Several attendees noted that when infrastructure fails, the incident reflects directly on the IT head managing it, making resolution speed a personal as well as operational concern.
What CloudPe discussed at the event
Conversations at the CloudPe booth centered on cloud infrastructure and VMs, GPU compute for AI and ML workloads, managed Kubernetes, and cost optimization relative to existing hyperscaler spend. For attendees already comparing providers, discussions moved quickly into specifics: pricing, performance benchmarks, and what a migration process would involve.
